OVERVIEW We believe that now more than ever we must equip our daughters with the skills needed to pursue a healthy, happy, balanced and productive life. This experience is designed to provide a two-week session for a maximum of 12 girls, ages 10 to 15. Joined by other animal lovers, young and old, the experience will be a combination of daily interactions and caring for farm animals and gardens on the farm.
The girls will have a chance to explore careers and opportunities in the horse field and equine industry, participate in creative, engaging animal and garden projects, and enjoy nutritious, delicious food with a “farm to fork” flair. This diverse program also offers all the fun of silly games, swimming, walking, exercise, team building, campfires, and a good night’s sleep in a comfy bed, surrounded by friends and fresh air!
LOCATION The program, meals and lodging will be at Stepping Stone Lodge. Beautiful new furniture, beds, linens, serving ware and kitchen appliances await your arrival. Return to the place where memories are made and joy abounds! STAFF Joyously and with great anticipation and excitement, Boo will once again be the Director. Lifelong friends and professional colleagues will join her to make this an unforgettable experience for all. The hope is that alumnae and alumnae children will join as counselors, teachers and CITS (several have already expressed interest). We will keep you in the loop about who will be joining us as we staff up the program!
FOOD The food will be healthy, plentiful, locally-sourced and beautifully presented. The emphasis will be on eating clean and with more plant-based recipes. If McDonalds’ can make plant-based food taste good, so can we! Our menus will be based on the local, seasonal food available.
Ingredients will be sourced from Connolly’s Dairy, Fitch’s Farm Stand, Trombley’s Farm, Newfield’s Farm, and the Temple-Wilton Community Biodynamic Farm, which also offers Orchard Hill Bakery breads and Plowshare Farm Granola. We will use our excellent area grocer, Market Basket, for regular provisions. Local bakers will provide some afternoon baked goods and yummy evening desserts. (Of course, there will also be S'mores!)
COST Tuition for this program is $1,850 per week or a total of $3,700. There are no extra hidden fees. Tuition covers lodging, meals, programming, excursions, transportation, and laundry, as well as two two t-shirts and a keepsake photo book.
